Founded in 2016, we quickly grew to two offices and a fleet of wheelchair accessible vans. Shepherd Ride serves its neighbors in NOVA and Tidewater as a state-licensed, Medicaid-certified provider of non-emergency medical transportation services. This means, when you need an accessible ride but you don’t need an ambulance, Shepherd Ride will be there to safely, reliably, and comfortably transport you to and from the pharmacy, dialysis, rehabilitation, doctor appointments, and other medical destinations.

All our vans are wheelchair accessible via lifts. They pass ADA criteria for accessibility including wheelchair accessibility, and they are set up well for gurney / stretcher rides. Our fleet includes full-sized vans and models such as Econolines, Ford Transits, and Mercedes Sprinters.
All drivers at Shepherd Ride are PASS certified. PASS stands for Passenger Assistance, Safety, and Sensitivity. This certification from the Community Transportation Association of America serves as the industry standard for ensuring passengers are transported in the most safe, sensitive and careful manner possible.
